Welcome to the by boe & INEZ blog - a collection of inspirational and behind the scenes images from by boe's designer and creative director Annika Inez.

Of her overall design influences Annika Inez states: “More than having specific inspirations such as a character from a specific movie, I have always felt that experiences and impressions that make me feel inspired and excited to create are my influences. Be it a dance performance, a walk in nature, a spectacular storm or sunset, music that makes me feel, the excitement of seeing a part of the world. The more specific sources of inspiration are usually noticeable after a collection is done.”
As by boe prepares to unveil our Fall collection lookbook, we find it fitting to invite you into our studio.  Seeing where inspiration begins and styles are created gives a greater understanding of the by boe aesthetic, and we are so lucky to have our friend, designer Lotta Jansdotter, show our studio to you.
A self-trained artist, Lotta Jansdotter has much in common with by boe designer Annika Salame:  both hail from sweden, studied interior design in NYC, + left their studies to pursue their true design dreams (in Brooklyn!).
In her gorgeous new book, Open Spaces, Lotta goes behind the scenes + shows us the studios of 24 artists from her favorite cities: Stockholm, Brooklyn, + Tokyo.  The beautiful pages bring the reader into the intimate workshops (+ living spaces!) of some of the world’s most creative minds.
